NALSAR University as part of its ongoing efforts to address the various legal issues has established a conference division to periodically hold conferences on various themes.
Law Teachers Refresher Course - ADR
The University organised a three week Refresher Course for Law Teachers on All India basis from 9th to 29th November, 2002. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. D.C. Singhania, Senior Advocate, New Delhi. As many as 15 Law Teachers participated in the programme on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). Mr. Ch. G. Krishna Murthy, Treasurer, International Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution, Hyderabad delivered the valedictory address and distributed the participation certificates.
Environment Law Seminar
A two-day Seminar on "Environment Law and Policy - A 21st Century Perspective'' was held on 2nd and 3rd December 2002, which was inaugurated by Mr. D. Murali Krishna, Additional Secretary, AP Pollution Control Board, Hyderabad. Delegates from Mumbai, Vishakhapatnam, Anantapur, Nellore, Delhi and Kolkata participated in the seminar along with the representatives from World Bank, Ministry of Environment and Forest, GOI.
Human Rights Education Seminar
On 9th and 10th December 2002, a two-day National seminar on "Human Rights Education - Law and Society" was organised in collaboration with the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. The seminar was inaugurated by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Y. Bhaskar Rao, Former Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court. Dr. Umesh Kadam of ICRC, New Delhi and representatives from AIU participated.
Human Rights - 21st Century Challenges Seminar
At the one day seminar on "Human Rights - 21st Century Challenges" held on 11th January, 2003 Hon'ble Mr. Justice J.S. Verma, Chairperson, National Human Rights Commission was the Chief Guest and he delivered the inaugural address. Prof. V.B. Coutinho, Vice-Chancellor, Gulburga University, Gulburga delivered the valedictory address.
