Attendance

  1. All students shall attend the classes, courtroom exercises and practicals regularly. There shall be a minimum 75% attendance of the total number of classes held in each of the subject/courses in a semester as per the mandatory requirements of the Bar Council of India. No student shall be permitted to appear in end term examinations if he/she falls short of the above-required attendance. The following is the incentive marks for a regular student.
  2. The student representing Inter University Moot Court competitions (National/International) will be given deemed attendance as under:
    1. Participation in National moot court competition- 4 days for memorial preparation plus actual days of competition plus actual number of days taken towards traveling.
    2. Participation in International Moot Court competitions - 6 days for preparation of memorials plus actual days of competition plus actual number of days taken towards traveling.
    3. Participation in extra curricular activities such as debates, quiz, cultural activities etc., - actual days of participation plus actual number of days taken towards traveling.
  3. Attendance of end term examination/first repeat/second repeat will be given for the days of examination.
  4. In exceptional cases or any contingency/sickness the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor on the recommendation of respective Dean will permit makeup attendance on production of proof of the contingency/sickness up to 10% of the total attendance in a semester.
  5. If a student falls short of attendance in more than two courses in a semester, he/she has to be readmitted/re-registered in the same semester for all the papers. Incase of shortage of attendance in two courses, he/she will be allowed to appear in end term examination of other courses and on their passing will be promoted to the next semester and with the next semester as regular student he/she has to re-register in the course/courses on depositing the prescribed fee. A maximum of two papers will be allowed in such cases. Extra classes will be held for two months to make him/her eligible to appear in the second repeat. The classes will be held after regular class timings.
