Learning Law in Action

1.Theoretical analysis, interpretation and understanding of "law" in classroom is a must. It is equally vital to imbibe practical knowledge on applicability of law. To achieve this objective, right from the beginning of the first year, students shall be placed for field training, for about eight weeks during April-May to experience and realize law in action.
2.In the first year students are placed with Social Action Groups, viz; Human Rights Agencies including NHRC/SHRC, Consumer Protection Fora, Non-governmental organizations engaged in the area of Environment, Ecology and Development, Local Self-Government Institutions, National and Regional Institutions working on issues of social importance like Women, Child Rights, Minorities and Scheduled and Backward Classes.
3.In the second year the students shall be placed with the Trial Court Advocates.
4.In the third year arrangements shall be made to impart training with the Appellate Court Advocates practicing at various High Courts and the Supreme Court of India.
5.In the fourth year students shall receive work exposure at the Corporate Law firms, companies and other specialized law firms.
6.In the fifth year students shall be allowed to choose and decide on any national or international institutions for their field experience.
